The first video recordings with a steel tongue drum (happy drum / tank drum) appeared in 2005–2007, when popular percussionist Felle Vega presented the first prototype called Tambiro. It was an ordinary propane bottle with petals-slits on the sides. In general, tongue drums are one of the oldest musical instruments in the world. Instrument’s classification: | Idiophone – music. Instrument’s structure: | It consists of two metal bowls connected to each other. Petals-notes are located on one of the bowls, and a technical opening is on the other. Various modifications are possible: change of instrument volume, geometry of petals. For each petal is assigned its own note and together they form a harmonious scale. The thickness of the metal depends on the steel grade. Raw materials: Standard for happy drum – black (carbon) steel, heat treated. Diameter: 22/34/60 cm Height: 12-15 cm | Consists of two connected metal hemispheres. On one of the sides are tonal areas that form a harmonious sound sequence. These tonal areas are formed by special hammers, according to a special technology. In the middle of the tonal field there is a dump-small fossa.
